Take a look behind the scenes of one of our recent projects, not enough established growth to warrant a full photoshoot, but well enough to share on our blog. Take a peak at some of the construction images below.
Based on the banks of the Goulburn River we were tasked with creating landscape to blend the new Mitchelton Winery Hotel within the surrounds of the historical Mitchelton Winery Estate.
Mitchelton Winery Estate offers a totally immersive experience within this beautiful part of central Victoria. The landscape narrative was designed to fit comfortably with the site, the iconic buildings and the Goulburn River. The natural sloping site allowed us to introduce some dramatic landscape elements, such as the thick timber stairs flanked by rusted steel walls, extending from the landscape above, and the waterfall cascading from the pool below.
Our main focus for this project was to protect and link the history of the Winery, whilst celebrating and bringing in a new era, creating a seamless connection between the old and the new. We feel this has been achieved by using a mixed planting palette of native shrubs and ornamental grasses, sitting beside materials such as natural stone, board-form concrete, timber and steel. These elements combined together give the whole project an understated contemporary, yet smart edge.
Keep your eyes peeled for the final images coming soon.
